Dr.
Bruce Thomas is a native of New Jersey. He moved to Boynton
Beach Florida in 1967. His first occupation was construction
related, and he eventually became a general contractor. Dr. Thomas
made his living at that time designing, manufacturing, and installing
structural systems. His work experience in the construction field
caused him to seek chiropractic treatment following numerous back
injuries. Dr. Thomas’ father had 13 back surgeries and has taken many
powerful medications to manage serious pain. Dr. Thomas knew this
was not the route he wanted to follow. Dr. Gerald Strauss, his
chiropractor, inspired him to enroll in Chiropractic College in 1985
after experiencing the benefits of chiropractic care. Dr.
Bruce Thomas made the career change so that he could fulfill his
passion to become a healer. He knew that he did not want to
utilize drugs and surgery. The Chiropractic profession provided him a
path to help others through drugless and non-surgical methods.
Dr.
Bruce Thomas attended Palm Beach Community College for his
undergraduate education. He then re-located to Marietta Georgia to
attend Life Chiropractic College. He graduated Magna Cum Laude
from Life Chiropractic College in 1989. Dr. Thomas has one son,
Brian, who currently resides with his wife in California, and is an
instructor for the U. S. Coast Guard. His oldest daughter Laura,
recently married and resides with her husband in Canton Georgia.
Ivy, his youngest daughter lives in Pasco County, Florida and attends
high school. One
of Dr. Thomas’ passions is to learn how and why the body works.
By learning this, he finds it easier to discern dysfunction. He
currently uses a variety of chiropractic techniques, which include
Applied Kinesiology, Sacro-Occipital Technique, Cranial Release
Technique, Thompson, Diversified, Instrument Adjusting, and
Strain-Counter Strain techniques so that he can tailor chiropractic
treatment to each patient’s individual needs. Dr.
Thomas moved to the Tampa Bay area to practice in 1990. In 2008
Dr. Thomas and Dr. Rich-Consiglio formed a partnership and created Light
and Life Chiropractic Center, LLC. It was their intention to
create a 21st century state of the art chiropractic practice
utilizing the latest technology to treat patients more
effectively. They acquired an Avicenna Class IV Laser, a
computerized orthotic casting device from “The Orthotic Group”, and a
Power Plate to accelerate healing and aid in prevention of new
injuries. Dr. Thomas sees his patients as a “whole person” and it
is evidenced in his compassionate care.
